The kettle broke.
I ordered a new one.
The blender broke.
I ordered a new one of those, too.
My mobile phone broke.
One click and all was well.
The Earth broke.
I sat and cried.
And cried.
Love and courage.
Leah
PS. My mobile phone didn’t actually break and to be quite honest, if it did, I’d very seriously consider not replacing it, or at the very least replacing it with a less smart one. Oh, how I long to throw it into the waves some days!
PPS. If you know someone who’d appreciate this poem, please forward it along! Sometimes it’s good to reflect and be heartbroken about the world and feel all that pain gurgling around inside. It can strengthen our resolve to use the energy and gifts we have to be of service. The pandemic is spurring me on to speak my heart more clearly. More courageously.
