For a few short weeks
the world was made for us.
Now, this sliver of silence,
gifted from the palm of chaos,
wanes like the silver moon,
its time come and gone.
A steady hum of cars
carries visitors to the sea;
each one a prickly wave
through my butterfly belly.
I tune it out as best I can
and tune into the frequency of the rustling wind.
In the sunshine she shivers
with the unsettling promise of change.
Destruction is coming, she whispers –
from forest
from field
from sea.
I am both fearful and glad.
For to continue on this way
is no way at all.
As the cars rumble on
and as the people return to their lives
as if this were nothing more
than a blip in their day,
I strengthen my resolve
to witness and honour the magic in life;
to join hands and hearts
with the holders of the silence,
the keepers of the note of love
that sings still,
sings always,
of the more beautiful world
our hearts know is possible.
Love and courage,
Leah
Change will continue.
We don’t yet know how that will manifest.
Our focus affects that.
Thank you so much for sharing dear Linda. Much love to you xx
dear leah!
i so much feel with you, i feel the loss in my bones and in my soul too, yet i also feel the resolve to not give up the tenderness, the magic and, with that, gaining the courage to go on, staying close to what we hold so dear: golden bows of silence, green woven light, and this rich deep tapestry of love that underlies everything. so i say to you, more so than ever: love and courage to you too, and thank you for being you!

Thank you for sharing this beautiful comment Romie! "Staying close to what we hold so dear" – yes, that is beautiful. Thank you. xx
I do miss the outer silence… inner silence is always available (sometime easier to access than other times!). The news of cleaner air, water, new appearances of animal species, and repair in the ozone layer. I wonder if the world might decide to implement – to choose – periods of planetary rest … and… I trust that Nature in all her infinite wisdom will bring balance as needed to Earth’s ecosystem (no matter what humanity does or doesn’t change).
The words "planetary rest" give me a deep exhale. Thank you so much for sharing Christine. Lots and lots of love xx
